1922-2022
The family announces, with sorrow, the passing of Adèle Leduc (née Therrien) at the age of 99 at the Timmins and District Hospital on January 28th, 2022. Predeceased by her husband Adrien (2014) and her son Donald (2004). Dear mother of Sylvia Barrette (Mark) and Marcel (Lynne). Cherished grandmother of Ritchie, Darcy (Nathalie), Jude (Anne), Joel (Lynn), Lise (Pat), Lynn (Marc), Michel (Rachel), Renée (Jean Sébastien), Andrée (James), Émilie (Matt), Chantale, Mona (Marc). Also left to mourn are great grand-children Micah & Lucas (mother Mary Milicevic), Patrick & Philippe, Ava, Hannah & Ella, Kyle & Lauryn, Stacey (Korey), Geneviève & Véronique (2015), Tuesday & Tao, Forest, Patrick & Amy-Lynn and three great great grandchildren John, Ryan and Grayson. Dear sister-in-law of Gisèle Therrien, Irene Parcey, Claude Duguay, Noella Boissoneault (Jean), Laurette Lelievre, Aurel Bourcier and Gabriel Benoit She will also be sadly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ernest Therrien and Rose Emma Richard, her brothers Aurèle, Gerald and Michel. Adèle was born July 16th 1922 in Timmins. She grew up in Ramore before moving to the Timmins area with her husband Adrien in the late forties. She was a very loving and kind person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She worked for many years at St. Mary’s Hospital in the kitchen. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her husband Adrien at their cottage at Rice Lake. Her favourite pastimes included playing cards and knitting. Her famous toques and slippers were treasured by family and friends and some even made their way to Africa and Jamaica.She enjoyed 4-wheeling with Adrien well into her late 80’s and spent her later years camping with Sylvia and Mark, thoroughly enjoying sitting around the fire.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Judy Gillies for the excellent care and emotional support provided through Adèle’s journey. Adèle received wonderful care during her stay at Timmins and District Hospital and in the hospice unit. We are grateful to Drs. Lambert, Quirion, Hopkins and all the compassionate and caring nurses who provided exceptional care, kindness and support during her stay.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022 at the St. Dominique Church, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. (Mask wearing and social distancing will be required along with the maximum number of attendees allowed in the Church). In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be made to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to Miron-Wilson Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam Street South, Timmins.
